3 Ways To Keep Your Sense Of Adventure
This past week I was fortunate enough to take a trip south (think: WARM!) to Phoenix - spending four days exploring, making new memories, and trying new things…and while adventure and fun are, well, fun - sometimes it isn’t so easy to go out and live life a little more free when we’re used to the day-in day-out routine of our normal lives.
Here are a few tips to help get your booty back in the adventure saddle if it’s been awhile since you’ve ventured out.
ONE: Start small. Your adventure doesn’t have to be across the country. Maybe it is a daytrip by car to take a scenic hike, to shop some kitschy boutiques, or finally visit that downhome ice cream shop.
TWO: Make it a habit. Sometimes when we aren’t used to “anything”, it seems weird, because it’s new - that’s normal. The more we do it, the more normal it becomes, and the more comfortable we get. Same applies to adventure - regularly drive in a city, fly on a plan, read a hiking map (and hike it!) - by practicing these things it will take away the stress of these parts of your trip when you’re out on your excursion.
THREE: Have fun! Heyyy, anytime you are having fun, it’s, well, FUN! Some nervousness might be normal at first, but go into your adventure with a semi-planned idea and an upbeat attitude - knowing ahead of time what to expect will take away unpredictable obstacles AND let you grow anticipation of the great things to come!
